An Animated Gif is a series of images, what are taken one after the other during the photographing of the subject, then they are edited and made into a repeating video. The gif above is of myself, and I thought the smoke would look aesthetically pleasing, and I'm very happy with the outcome.

I made this gif in photoshop. Once I had uploaded all of my images into photoshop, I started to select (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) each layer onto the one before it. So in the end I ended up with one layer, which had many images all piled up, in the correct order that I wanted the gif to be seen. I then created an animation, by clicking 'Window' and then 'Animation' which made a small timeline at the bottom of the screen appear. Then I dragged the layers all onto one segment, and adjusted them to the correct time. Then I pressed play, and once I was happy with it, I looped it and saved it.

The image above is the Timeline in Photoshop. This allowed me to actually make the different layers/images into one animation.

The image to the left is the different layers, there was 9 of them in total.

Existing Gifs That I like:

A famous artist who creates gifs is INSA. He calls them 'GIF-iti'. He paints murals and photographs the process of making them. Then he makes them into a Gif. I love his work because it is so creative and colourful, and it is very nice to look at.
