This image is my rough plan for my final piece. I used the blank face from the image what had 'Soul' written in it, but I replaced it with 'Identity' so people would know that what my theme. I used images of my family, friends, pets and things that I am interested in within this. I made them all very faint by messing with the Exposure Levels and the Brightness and Contrast Levels. I then put all of the images into Lighter Colour or Screen in the drop down menu which changes the effect of the image. I used a victorian background, since I really like the pattern.

In the image I added a photograph of me and my mum; a photograph of me and some of my friends from college; a photograph of me and boyfriend; some flowers; my tarantula; a butterfly and an Alice in Wonderland silhouette. All of the images I used somehow contribute to my identity.

I like the inital idea for this, but I dislike how the images are cut off, and just stop with a straight line or a curve. So when I remake this, I'm going to try and fix that, by maybe adding more images or a different composition. I am also going to use higher resolution photographs.

The image on the right is my second draft for my final piece. This time I added the victorian texture background before I flattened the image, so it looks alot neater. I used the same inspiration as the one above for my face. I essentially remade the above image, but this time I left the images in colour to stand out, and bring attention to them. I like this image because it is an improved version of the one above, and it has made me realise that the images look better in colour.

The only thing I would change is perhaps better quality images, and the straightness of the images. I dislike how they just end, and there's nothing to blend the background and the image, so I would change that next time.

The above image is another draft for my final piece. I made the images relating to my identity black and white, and lowered the opacity. I used the 'Luminosity' option from the drop down Effects menu for the images. I prefer this piece bevause the images all blend in, and I like how they aren't completely visible, you almost need to look for them to notice them, especially with the feather near my collar.

The image to the left is my base for my final piece. I used the victorian texture for the background, and added in my version of myself with the blank face on top, and erased the background on that. I added in a moon; flowers; feathers and a butterfly and put the 'Difference' Effect on them from the drop down menu, then played with the brightness and contrast levels on each until I was satisfied with them. I especially like the feather because my collar goes through it, and it looks very unusal where the two cross.

Final Piece:

The above image is my final piece for my Identity project. I used the blank face to suggest that I have no identity which is visible to others, but I added the images which are symbolic of my identity in the background, and faded the opacity of them so they are harder to see. I really like this final piece, and I think the images all blend in, and there are no straight edges, which is a problem I encountered with the other rough drafts. I like how I have used the inspiration from the 'Soul' blank face image, which is on my Identity Ideas page, and I like how I have adapted it to suit this project. I used my own ideas for the other images, which was inspired by the Mixed Media Portraits that we experimented with.
